A network of nodes

A network of computing “nodes” make up the blockchain. A computer connected to the blockchain network using a client that performs the task of validating and relaying transactions is a node.   Each node receives a copy of the blockchain which gets downloaded automatically when joining the blockchain network.

Together they create a powerful second-level network, a wholly different vision for how the internet can function.

TYPES OF CRYPTOCURRENCY

Meeting Etiquette is not something taught in school. Etiquette refers to good manners required by an individual. It is important for an individual to behave appropriately in public to earn respect and appreciation. Here is a guide for those of you that are new to business meetings. This is also a good refresher for those that have been working from home for a while and may have forgotten how to act in meetings.

Adherence to the proper meeting etiquette for a business meeting establishes respect among meeting participants. A lack of etiquette and poor planning are two of the main reasons why many business meetings fail. Teach your attendees business meeting etiquette to ensure that your business meetings are effective.

Do’s

1. Be on Time – Arrive early

How many times have you been in a meeting where you are waiting on someone pertinent to the discussion? Unfortunately, time management is a huge issue with meetings. If participants are 5-10 minutes late, once the small talk is over, there is minimal time to discuss the important things. And if you run over time, that means the next meeting starts late. It’s a vicious cycle! Use your Google calendar to keep you on time.

2. Wear Your Pants – Follow the business dress code

Sure, we have all gotten very comfortable with working from home. What’s more comfortable than rolling out of bed and turning on your computer? Remember that it is a business meeting so dress appropriately. If you are going to be on camera, a little bit of effort is necessary. Nobody wants to see your naked chest or your underwear or pajamas!

You want to be an example so continue with the Do’s.

3. Mute Yourself

Even if you are the only person other than the presenter in the meeting, you should mute yourself when not speaking.  Background noise can be easily picked up. Let’s face it, we are all used to everyone being home and dogs barking in the background. Nothing to be embarrassed about but mute yourself so the meeting is not interrupted.

4. You Don’t Always Need to be on Camera

Yes, we have all heard that to really feel the collaboration between your team, you should be able to see each other. But sometimes, it’s okay to turn your camera off.  Life happens.  If your dog is needy, or the kids are in the background, or maybe you just don’t feel very good and would rather not be the shining star you always are, turn the camera off. 

5. Fix Your Background

Whether you use Skype or Zoom, part of meeting etiquette is that you have a suitable background. You have the ability to change your background.  You can always have your normal background if you have a nice home office space. If your workspace is in the kitchen or your bedroom, you can blur your background or choose one of the fancy backgrounds that are preset in your platform. Or if you are really talented, you can make your own background! Lounging in bed or by the pool in your swimsuit is not proper meeting etiquette.

Don’t Do This

1. Don’t Multitask – Stay Focused!

Always focus entirely on the meeting. This is especially important and is being respectful of the speaker(s). Listen – really listen! to what others are saying. We are all busy, but it is important to pay attention. You may find that many of the questions you have about a topic are answered by the content of the meeting. Listen attentively to the meeting and take notes. Active listening is respectful and gives you a solid base for formulating your response.

Turn off your cell phone or put it off to the side so it is not distracting to you. If you are expecting an urgent call, then set your phone to vibrate and excuse yourself from the meeting if the call comes in.

It might seem like you can get away with multitasking, but people will usually notice. For example, someone may be asking you a question, and if you’re distracted by something else, you may not realize it. They may have to repeat themselves a few times until they get your attention.

Or, you may miss important information while replying to an email.

It can be considered rude to multitask during a Zoom meeting. If you wouldn’t multitask at the meeting if it were held in person, you probably shouldn’t do so if it’s held over the internet, either.

Eating, Smoking or Drinking? Not a good idea

2. Don’t Eat, Smoke or Slurp

There is nothing more disgusting or rude than being on screen and watching someone stuff their face with their breakfast, snack, or lunch. Eat beforehand or afterward.  There is no room for food in business meetings – period. If you must eat, turn off your camera and mute so the attendees cannot hear you munching.

It also shows a certain level of disrespect to the other participants. It may appear as if you couldn’t care less about the meeting. Even chewing gum might come close to crossing the line, so avoid it if you can. It’s not even like you need to freshen your breath for the other attendees.

It should also go without saying that while nobody in the meeting will inhale your second-hand smoke, smoking in a Zoom meeting is typically considered unprofessional.

Show courtesy and respect to fellow attendees

3. Don’t Interrupt

Don’t interrupt others or talk over them, just like you wouldn’t in a real meeting. It can get confusing and disorienting when multiple participants in a Zoom meeting are talking at once. Everyone on the call should get the chance to speak without interruptions. Be considerate of others in the meeting. When they talk, listen to what they are saying.  Each person should be given a turn without another talking over them, monopolizing the conversation.  It’s like a debate – you’ll get your five minutes.  Let the other person get theirs too. Only speak when you have the floor. Ask questions during the designated question period, and raise your hand to be recognized. Do not interrupt someone while they are speaking or asking a question.

In a physical meeting, the voices are at least separated, coming from different places around the table or different parts of the room. In a Zoom meeting, however, all the voices are heard from a single sound source – each attendee’s computer.

As an aside, that’s why it’s a good idea for everyone to be muted unless they are actively speaking. That way, all participants can look at the screen and see who is talking.

Otherwise, the background noise from some participants can make it hard to hear the speaker.

4. Don’t Type

There is nothing more distracting than when someone is speaking, hearing the sounds of someone furiously typing.  It is so loud over the microphone. Jot things down in a notebook or invest in a good quality headset.

5. Don’t Invite Unnecessary People

I’m sure we have all been invited to meetings where five minutes in, you’re thinking to yourself, “Why am I here?” Everyone’s time is valuable, so when organizing a meeting, even virtual, be mindful of who adds value to the discussion. Adding people to the invite list, just to have more bodies isn’t productive.

Don’t bring along guests. If you think that the meeting will be productive by bringing a guest, make arrangements with the meeting organizer before the meeting.

Meeting etiquette is one of those pieces of training that leaders forget. Most think that everyone should just “know” it. So it’s important that you stop and remember to get with your attendees and show them the ropes. They will appreciate it and will appreciate that you took the time. It would be great if more leaders would add meeting etiquette to their training modules for all new people.

You don’t have to live in the Phoenix area very long before you start hearing about snowbirds. Snowbirds aren’t really birds at all.

Snowbirds are people who come to the Phoenix area (and other parts of the Southwest) to escape the harsh winters of their main home. • The term “snowbird” is in fact a nickname name for the Dark-eyed Junco bird.  But in terms of people, it’s used to describe a group of seasonal travelers (usually retirees) who migrate to areas with warmer climates during the winter months.  The word was first used in 1923.  It was used to describe seasonal workers who moved south for the winter months.  By 1979 it was commonly used in reference to the large number of retiree tourists who flocked to the south.
• Today the majority of snowbirds are between the ages of 50 and 69: the baby boomers. This generation is known to be very active and they tend to be wealthy, well-educated, and adapt to the snowbird lifestyle very well.
• The assumption that snowbirds are wealthy isn’t always true. Many RVing winter visitors are retired, but they still pick up temporary jobs in order to afford the extra expenses of the snowbird lifestyle.

• After a certain age, a slip on the ice becomes extremely dangerous; shoveling snow and ice is too straining; and the cold weather limits healthy habits like walking and bike riding. Getting Google AdSense Approval!

Are you having trouble getting Google AdSense to accept your blog site? Well, you are not alone, lots of people find themselves at the point of not understanding what they need to do to be approved. This guide is going to help you with the exact points that Google is looking for.  Get your site ‘Google AdSense‘ approved.

If you do the steps in this guide there is a good chance you will be approved. I understand the frustration that can come with not reaching your goal. So let’s understand what you need!

First, you need to drive traffic to your site. You can do this in many different ways.

Ask your friends and family to check it out and to spread the word about your site. Word of mouth is a powerful way of advertising. Even handing out cards that have your website on it is a great way of getting traffic

Post to free Classified Ad sites. You should have at least 10,000 posts. Volume is the key – the more the better!

Social Media is super important.

Yes, Google can track if you have the traffic coming to your site from Social Media. Everyone is connected in some way with Social Media. Google is big on you having social networking where people will find your site in one of the biggest ways of communication these days. Here are a few we suggest using.

SEO/READABILITY

You need your pages and posts to have the SEO to be green and the Readability to be green.

To check this:

From the Dashboard, go to Pages, All Pages.

All the pages of your site will be listed.

You will see whether they are Published or Draft, so click on Published.  It’s above the “Title” of your pages. It also shows the status of SEO and Readability on the far right – the two dots that are either orange, green, or red.

We have the Yoast SEO tool to show us what needs to be changed for these to go green. Read the following articles to find out the ways to change the required problems on your page.

Flesch Reading Ease

Each one of your pages and posts needs to have more than 300 words. Try to make your pages between 600 & 1,000 words.  You want to have rich content so don’t just stuff your article with meaningless chatter or images. Research your topic and get some information and facts to put in your pages/posts. Less than 300 words will be viewed as incomplete articles and Google will not approve you.

Be sure to modify the content on every page/post by 40-50%. Make it your own. Google looks for original content and knows if you have copied the page from another source.

You will also need original content. An easy way to do this is to make a page about a recent experience or trip. Tell a story or relate a personal experience about the month, holiday, a vacation. Then tie it to an offer or three. Include links to those offer pages on your site. Also, write pages about your hobbies or interests.

Volume and Value

You need a few articles that are lengthy. If you can get 2-4 pages to be 1000 words or more then this will help. It shows Google that you are creating meaningful pages with useful information. Again, these pages need to have content that shows value. It can be a page on how to do something. Or a page explaining how to manage a disorder or what to do on a vacation. Make it a page with information that people will want to know.

You want a minimum of 100 published pages on your site.  Not all of these will be included on your menu. A lot of these pages will just be “floating” on your website which is ok. When someone does a search the search engines will be able to find them as long as they are published. So put only the most relevant pages on your menu – anchor offers. You can switch them out for times like holidays or a huge special from one of our suppliers that you want to highlight. The more activity on your system the more Google will like what you are doing.

There are a few things you should never have on your site! These things will get you banned from Google AdSense

• Content that advocates against an individual, group, or organization
• Adult content
• Recreational drugs and drug-related content
• Hacking and cracking content
• Misrepresentative content
• Violent content
• Content that enables dishonest behavior
• Illegal content

KEYWORDS?

Keywords are important. You want to have your keywords show up on your pages several times. However, do not stuff your page with the word so that it is a redundant word. Use it in a respectful way and refer to it as needed. Unique keywords are important. Change the keyword that came with the page template.  Make sure you have your keyword in the following:

• The URL
• The title and H1 tags
• The first sentence
• Subheadings
• Image file names and alt text
• The meta description
• In at least 1 link to related content

Your flow or navigation needs to be clean and clear. If people can’t go through your pages/posts easily they will leave your site. So make sure that the flow of your site is understandable! No one wants to fight to find what they are looking for.

Each offer page in your menu should be mentioned on the category page it is under. Have a link from the category page to the offer page that the paragraph is referring to.  Verify that all pages listed on your category page are actually on your website and listed on your menu in alphabetical order.  The ones that are not on your category page should be removed from the menu and will be out there as “floaters.” Ones that are not ready, change to Draft mode.

Check your links!

These are errors that really put Google off, ERROR 404/502. This is a link that is broken and leads nowhere. This is a navigational thing you must check. Here is a tool that you should run monthly to make sure that you don’t have any broken links. https://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/

Pictures links are also important.

One day your pictures are fine and on the next review, you find 2 or more that are broken. Why? Too many reasons to go into, however, simply reapply the picture or get a new one. Sometimes you don’t need to know why you just need to take care of business.

Add content. ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR ORIGINAL PAGES AND POSTS ARE COMPLETE!

If you just stop adding pages, then Google will think you are just not really serious about your site. You should be adding offers or articles to your site once you have all your pages/posts to Google standards at least once a week. This is going to keep you current and active in Google’s eyes. If you really want to succeed at this you will do 2 pages a week. They will be on current topics in the news, trends, and hot offers that are in demand. It is always a good habit to write pages on our Anchor offers. Get with your Instructor if you don’t know what those are. (Hint: Instructor’s Links)

Follow these steps to get the ad.txt file.

• Create an ads.txt file for your site
• AdSense provides a personalized ads.txt file that you can download from your account. The personalized ads.txt file includes your publisher ID. Your publisher ID must be included and formatted correctly for your ads.txt file to be verified.
• Sign in to your AdSense account.
• If there’s an alert on your homepage, click Fix Now. Otherwise, click Sites.
• Click the Down arrow to open the “Create an ads.txt file for…” message.
• Click Download. Your ads.txt file is automatically downloaded.
• Watch this video to see how to request tech support to add your code to your site.

To verify that you published your file correctly, check that you successfully see your file’s content when you access the ads.txt URL (https://example.com/ads.txt) in your web browser. If you can see the file in your web browser, it’s likely that AdSense will successfully find it.

Lupus also called SLE, systemic lupus erythematosus is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues and organs.  Lupus (SLE) can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. It can be difficult to diagnose because its signs and symptoms often mimic those of other ailments. Symptoms vary but can include fatigue, joint pain, rash, and fever. These can periodically get worse (flare-ups) and then improve. Some people are born with a tendency toward developing lupus, which may be triggered by infections, certain drugs, or even sunlight. While there’s no cure for lupus, current treatments focus on improving quality of life through controlling symptoms and minimizing flare-ups. This begins with lifestyle modifications, including sun protection and diet. Further disease management includes medications, such as anti-inflammatories and steroids.

MY STORY

It was back in 1990 and I was having some dramatic health issues.  Up until then, I had been healthy.  So after having surgery, I started to heal and was starting to feel myself again.  But then things started happening.  I became tired easily and just not feeling well.  It was hard to describe.  I was one of those who spent a lot of time outdoors.  But that summer I was getting rashes and didn’t understand.  So off to the doctor I went and dreaded it.  After some tests, the doctor told me I had Lupus.  He wasn’t able to tell me much other than it was an autoimmune disease and there was no cure.  I was also told that some people have a shorter lifespan as the body starts to attack itself. There were medications (steroids) that will help with the symptoms. Not a good prognosis and not what I wanted to hear. I had no idea what to do but I wasn’t going to take steroids!

Top 5 Things Most People Don’t Know About Lupus (and you wish they did)

1) It is NOT Contagious

I repeat. LUPUS IS NOT CONTAGIOUS. It is an autoimmune disease.

2) It is the Great Mimicker

Feeling tired, nauseous, and having overall malaise? You could have lupus! Or ten thousand other conditions that can cause those exact symptoms. Because lupus symptoms can mimic those of so many other illnesses, it can be incredibly hard to diagnose.

3) It Affects Minority Women the Most

1.5 million Americans are afflicted in some form, while more than 5 million are known to have it worldwide. Of those affected, 90 percent of them are women and 80 percent are between the ages of 15 and 45. People of color are 2 to 3 more times likely to be diagnosed than Caucasians.

4) It Affects Everyone Differently

It is true, you can have lupus and look perfectly “normal” on the outside–which can be a blessing and a curse. Some people experience only internal symptoms like kidney, heart, and lung issues. Some people experience only external symptoms like skin lesions, malar rash, and hair loss (alopecia). It is almost impossible to find two lupus patients with the exact same symptoms. Moreover, it is unfair and illogical to compare two patients. It is also unfair to judge someone who may not “look” ill. So, before anyone utters the words “But, you don’t look sick” to someone who is chronically ill, he/she should be forewarned that it is really invalidating, particularly if someone is in a flare and feels like roadkill on the inside.

5) There is No Cure, But It Can Go Into Remission

At times, patients may have periods with few or no symptoms, commonly called remissions, but symptoms rarely disappear completely. At other times the patient may have debilitating disease activity with severe symptoms. Sadly, there is still no cure; however, 80 to 90% of people with Lupus can live a normal lifespan. 

I’m a fighter so this was no different.  Just another battle, right?  So I started doing research and looking at alternatives.  I was not going to submit my body to the ramifications of steroids and chemicals.  I decided to learn about herbal medications and supplements.  In my search, I found a supplement company that started my search into natural products.  Its product offerings made me confident that I would be able to combat this disease successfully.  I did find the products that stabilized my body and systems.  When I go to the doctors now they tell me to keep doing whatever I’m doing because it’s working.

In general, people with lupus should aim for a well-balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. It should also include moderate amounts of meats, poultry, and oily fish.

• Reduce inflammation and other symptoms
• Maintain strong bones and muscles

• Reduce the risk of heart disease

  Free-range chicken – organic if possible
  Livers and Kidneys – only organic
  Vegetables- aim for every color under the rainbow on your plate. Most of your plate should be filled with vegetables with a small portion of protein
  Fruits- one serve of fruit per day
  Healthy fats- olive oil, avocado, flaxseed oil, flaxseed meal
  Ghee
  Nutritive sugars- honey and maple syrup in small amounts
  Fresh herbs
  Fermented foods- sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir

Cooking tip!
Try to make meals nutrient-dense, wherever you can.  Add a bit of ‘value’ to your meals. This can be done with a knob of fresh ginger (anti-inflammatory, metabolic stimulant, reduces nausea, increases circulation) to a cup of herbal tea.  Culinary herbs such as parsley, coriander, mint, and basil have many medicinal properties. If you begin to add these to your lunch and dinner you are getting much more nutrition in just one single meal.
